Paula is my Executive Assistant and my friend. She looks out for me and makes sure I have what I need when I need it. I wanted to make something special for her birthday. I know that one of her favorite vacation places is Sanibel Island so I obsessed over the right components to reflect sun, sand and sea.
I made the pendant from clay and pressed real shells into it for texture. I added two glazes--silver and copper--over the aqua blue clay. Other components were pearls, sea glass and copper features. I'm hoping she will wear it and relax thinking of her favorite place to unwind.
